Customer Reviews: Average Rating:

Rating : - Garmin Update CD
A not so minor glitch occurred. This was the wrong disk for our Garmin version. In fact, the product number had been given to me by Garmin with the comment that they were out of stock and that I could find it on Amazon (probably cheaper!!) Looked at the instructions that came with the CD and realized that I had the wrong product - d--- (that, of course, stands for DARN).

Called Garmin to confirm the need for a correction - they admitted that they gave me the wrong product number. Then a REAL demonstration of customer service took place - The Garmin Tech Rep gave me an RMA number and told me to include a note with the correct number on it. Garmin took it back and sent me the right disk. Do I like Garmin? You're darned tooten.

Next VERY minor glitch. The info has expanded so it does not fit on a 1 Gig card any more (I have EVERYTHING Garmin has - US and Canada on our GPS in case we get to travel that far someday). I had just bought a 2 GIG card which never did make it to my camera. Had to buy another for the camera but I am really very happy with the upgrade on the Garmin C320.

How about the folks I bought it from on the internet? They shipped it quickly and I got it quickly - the wrong number was not their fault. I would have no hesitation dealing with them again - but next time I want to be sure to give them the correct number.

I have to tell anyone wanting to buy an "add-on" GPS. I like the Garmin C320 more than I like the built in one in my Acura MDX. The only two things I like better on mine are the Zoom feature (dial v trying to hit the little + and - spots on the screen of the C320, and the ability to get traffic info from my XM subscription in the MDX). And my son, the one I turn to for recommendations on what Tech Stuff to buy, likes his wife's C320 better than the one in his Infiniti FX-35. These are two high end cars and the Nav systems cost over 1000$ vs, now, about 200 for the C320!! Save some dough - buy the Garmin - and you can take it with you when you fly somewhere! If both of our cars had Nav systems, I would still own a Garmin for travel.

Last year my wife took it with her to an unfamiliar city and put it in a rental car. She had a cousin's address in the outskirts of that city. He told her to call when she reached a certain gas station and he would come out to get them (she and her sisters) "because no one can find this place". When they knocked on his door he could not believe it.

When I bought it she accused me of just wanting "another tech toy" but now, like her PDA (which I had to bludgeon her into trying at first - she was as much married to that DayTimer as she was to me) she does not want to be without her GPS either.
